Start with a clue you recognize and count the empty squares before writing. Every white square takes one letter, and a shared square belongs to two answers. Work lightly in pencil so you can revise a guess after checking a crossing. The answer lengths help new solvers narrow the options. Our clues are direct and theme-based; these pages do not require knowledge of cryptic crossword conventions or a newspaper's daily series.

Mazes & Brain Breaks

The printable mazes offer a break from reading clues. Follow the top opening through the passages to the bottom exit without crossing a wall. An eight by eight maze has roomy paths; larger twelve, sixteen and twenty by twenty layouts invite more patient tracing. A pencil makes it easier to retrace a dead end. The solution page marks the route, so a parent or teacher can offer a small hint instead of the entire answer.

Trace a light line and stop at a junction to compare the open passages. If you reach a dead end, return to the last choice and try another route. You can begin with a finger before making a pencil mark. Choose wider passages when tracing comfort matters, and let the solver decide when to try more turns. Word Search: Easy & Large Print

Our large print word search selection uses 19-point grid letters and 16-point word lists at actual print size. Garden, bird, seaside and meadow themes each have ten forward-only words. If a smaller grid matters more than larger letters, browse the easy word searches. Choose for the solver's reading confidence and comfort rather than an age label. A larger grid or backwards paths provide a slower challenge for older readers and adults.

The large print collection tells you both the grid letter size and the word-list size, because a roomy grid is less useful if the list is hard to read. Print at 100% to preserve those dimensions. A reader may want larger type without needing easier vocabulary, or prefer a short list regardless of letter size. Offer a sample and ask what feels comfortable. The on-screen thumbnail represents a complete sheet, so it is smaller than the actual print.

Choose US Letter or A4 to match the paper in your printer. Each PDF has two pages: print page one for the solver and save page two for checking. Use portrait orientation and actual size; choose Fit if an edge is clipped. Plain lines and simple letters work in grayscale. You may print copies for your family, classroom or tutoring group. Please share the page link rather than republishing or selling the files.

Before making multiple copies, print one sheet and check the smallest text and the page edges. Avoid two pages per sheet if you chose larger letters. Draft mode can save ink on some printers but may make thin lines faint; use the setting that leaves a clear result. A clipboard or firm table helps keep the page steady. For a group, make one solution copy for yourself and activity copies for the solvers.

You can download the files ahead of a lesson or trip and open them later in a PDF viewer. No colored ink is needed to follow a letter grid, clue number or maze wall. Choose a page range of 1 when you want only the activity. An answer key is useful for checking, but finishing every word or path is optional; a paper break can simply stop when someone wants to move on.
